EU Commissioner hails signing Agreement on implementation of Black Sea Energy Submarine Cable

Oliver Varhelyi, the European Union Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Policy, on Saturday welcomed the signing of the Agreement on Strategic Partnership in the field of Green Energy Development and Transmission between the Governments of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania and Hungary.

The EU Commissioner said the Agreement had been signed as part of Europe’s  Economic and Investment Plan of €17 billion and noted the European Commission worked together with the countries to bring common economic and social benefits “to all”, with Europe fulfilling its promises.



The high officials of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania and Hungary earlier today signed an Agreement on the Black Sea Submarine Electricity Cable project in Bucharest, to export green energy to Europe via Georgia.
